BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Gomberg practices orthopedic surgery, a position he has held since 2001. He is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgeons, a member of the New England Orthopaedic Society and Maine State Orthopaedic and New Hampshire Medical Societies. Dr. Gomberg is the Director of the prestigious Maine Orthopaedic Review and practices at Orthopaedic Associates in Portland, Me. He served as adjunct assistant professor at Dartmouth College School of Medicine. His specialties include knee and hip replacement, partial knee replacement, knee arthroscopy, and fracture surgery.

Dr. Gomberg earned his bachelor’s degree from the University of Delaware and a master’s degree from New Mexico State University. He spent several years in research and design in the aerospace industry, most notably at Lockheed's Skunkworks. From there, he earned an MD from the University of Pittsburgh and an internship and orthopaedic surgery residency at West Virginia University Hospitals.

Dr. Bruce Gomberg am an orthopaedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement and fracture fixation with interests in surgical navigation, instrumentation design, and surgical healthcare efficiency. My knowledge base is bolstered by my former career as an aerospace ergonomics engineer.
My clinical interests include: Knee arthroplasty (total & partial replacement), hip arthroplasty, knee arthroscopy, and fracture fixation.

For the past 9 years, Dr. Bruce Gomberg served as the Director of the Maine Orthopaedic Review. This course is the longest-running orthopaedic surgery review in the USA. Since 1959, nearly one third of all orthopaedic surgery residents in the US have taken this course with great results.
