Prevent herpes lesions with Resan vaccine

Resolved Question:

Hello doctor, I am taking an advantage by praising you for the efforts in creating a site like this. Now, my issue is regarding HSV type 2 infection, which I was affected unfortunately. As per the prescription of my doctor, from the last month I started taking Zovirax tablets. But the well-known drug has its side effects too in psychological levels. So, I consulted with my doctor again for curing this problem without Zovirax. But to my surprise, he told that there is no cure for the disease, as it is a sexually transmitted disease. But he suggested that there is a solution with regards to my problem. He told me that even if complete cure is not possible, I may take a vaccine which is used usually by cancer patients. The drug he suggested was Resan. May I use it? Will there be any change in my STD infection, by using this vaccine? I haven’t started getting visible symptoms of HSV or genital herpes as seen in genital herpes pictures. Please mention any other information, I should know regarding my STD. I am a 22 years old female. Thank you for taking time for answering me.

Thanks for your question and concern. It is really unfortunate to know that you are affected with genital herpes infection. As your doctor said, you may use Resan. Resan is a drug which imitates tumour antigens. It will make the body start producing anti-tumor immunity in people, once it is administered. It is usually used in cancer patients or people who are suspected to affect with tumor, to suppress malignancy chances. It cannot be used as an immunity booster, but can be used along with cancer treatment. Similarly, it is not sufficient to increase immunity power of body on to prevent an outbreak of herpes symptoms. It is recommended to follow a healthy diet and mind to maintain a healthy physique, even after getting affected with STDs. HSV, is not curable and your doctor is right with that. But medications are available to reduce visible symptoms. Hope my answer helps. Take care.
