Had salad from cook with THYPHOID. Can we travel?

Hi. We live in Rwanda and we have just learned that our cook has typhoid. It was diagnosed within the first week of infection. Last time she cooked for us and made salads was last Friday. My husband is supposed to travel this afternoon. Should he go? (He is going to Addis Abba by plane and returns Thursday). We show no symptoms as of now. Thanks. Janet
