Please let me know how much of the remanant liver is left behind completion of surgery. Generally clear liquid fluids can be started after 3 to 4 days of completion of surgery. Subsequently increased to thick fluids which are easily digestible. Bland semisolid diet is initiated later. All these diet can be simply digestible and will contain simple carbohydrates for easy absorption and assimilation. You could discuss with the hospital dietician and physician so as to get a complete and clear idea of patients actual requirement.
