Pain, weakness in ankle after SPRAIN. Cause.

Resolved Question:

Hi I am a very active and physically fit 23 year old male. I sprained my left ankle to the inside 6 months back. it was initially very painful I rested it and after a couple of weeks I began to strengthen it. It has not responded well as I still feel pain on contact when I run on it. There is pain mainly in the top of the arch where the ankle joint meets. Also there is weakness in the back of the foot along the heel. What injury do I have and what course of treatment should I take?

Since none of you have shown any symptoms till now, it is unlikely you will develop it. So he can travel. Prophylactically you both can start Tab. Doxycycline 100 mg twice daily for around 5-7 days. This will ensure the disease process ends even if it is in window period.
