Painful burning on urination after oral sex

Resolved Question:

Hello. An embarrassing problem. I will provide as much detail as possible:

Since Monday (Nov 25th) I have been experiencing a painful, burning sensation when I urinate.

The pain increased slightly on Tuesday, and has stayed at about the same level since. Fearing a urinary infection or an STD, I went to a clinic and had a battery of tests for infections and STDs (chlamydia, Gonorrhea). All tests came back negative.

But the burning sensation persists. I am looking for answers about what else it could be?

I am sexually active - I had moderately active sex with my girlfriend two days before the pain started. During sex, she gave me hard oral sex and I remember it hurting. Also, I did feel a tiny click from my penis at one point. At the time I was barely aware of it, and the day after felt fine. Also, there is nothing visible - no evidence of bruising, and certainly no blood.

My penis is generally more sensitive than usual at the head, it feels slightly uncomfortable when I squeeze it, or when I get hard. The only other salient piece of information might be that the pain really began after I masturbated (nothing overly athletic!) on Monday eve.

What is the likely cause here? Since all the infection/STD tests are negative, is it likely to be a tissue injury? Is there something I have not considered? I Googled 'is it possible to break your penis?' Given my situation, this has alarmed me.

Your advice appreciated!

p.s. I have excellent private medical insurance.

Dear Sir,

Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring.com

You seem to have bruised your penis while having intercourse with your girlfriend and it has been aggravated by the subsequent masturbation. Bruise means an abrasion, most likely inside the urethra. The negative STI tests confirm this. Bruise is a kind of tissue injury which is not deep. So there is no reason to worry

You don't need to do anything; just refrain from intercourse and masturbation for a week or so and you shall be fine. Drink plenty of water.
No other intervention is needed.

Take care.
Feel free to ask follow-up questions.

Sincerely

Patient replied :

Thank you doctor, that is very reassuring.

Two follow-up questions -

1) Is there any risk of long-term damage from the bruising?

2) At what point should I become concerned if the pain while urinating does not go away (i.e. how much time in your experience can these things take to heal?).

Dear Sir,

The bruising does not have any long term consequences. Under normal circumstances symptoms shall disappear within a week. If not consider getting a re evaluation (you can wait upto 12-14 days max)

Take care
