Hi, I am a healthy 38 year old female. I don't take any medications, medical history: none.

I woke up this morning with a sore orbital bone on the L side. It is tender to the touch along the outer upper ridge and outer lower ridge. (outer being ear side) It hurts 6/10 to look up 8/10 to look towards my nose, it's about a 3/10 at rest and it feels like a throbbing ache. The pain is behind my eye, there is no corneal pain - no feeling of a foreign body. When i squint hard the pain shoots down into my cheekbone. There is no redness, no swelling, no discharge, no fever, no vision changes. I haven't had a runny nose, no sinus issues. No teeth issues. No fever.

I went to the walk in clinic and the Dr said she really had no idea. She gave me an RX for Amoxicillin 500mg TID. She said if it wasn't better by Friday or if it got any worse to go straight to Emerg.

I am an RN, but eyes are not my area, don't see many eye issues in the ICU. My question is what might be going on here and should I just present to the Emergency department to get it checked? I hate to bog down our medical system for non emergencies (ontario canada) I started the antibiotic and took some advil 400mg about 2 hrs ago - no effect.
