Valium and Seroxat for colon problem

Resolved Question:

Dear Doctor,
I am a woman 30 years old.
I have taken (Valium 5mg /daily) and (Seroxat 20mg /daily) for 7 days only.
The doctor recommended them because I was having a severe colon problem and he was thinking this might help me feel better but I have never had depression. Today morning I could not go to the work and I went to the emergency and the doctor I met told me what I have is a side effect of using Valium and Seroxat and to be in the safe side I need to stop them slowly by taking the same quantity day after day( 1day take - 1 day off) for one week and then, the week after take 1 day and stop for 2 days then stop them permanently.
Can I stop use them today, If not what is your recommendation?

Hello,

Thank you for asking your query at DoctorSpring.

Since you have taken the medication only for short duration (1week) you may stop it now. Better, You can take half the tablet (if its possible to make it half) for two days and then stop. However there is very small chance that some withdrawal / adverse reactions. So Do get medical help if you have any symptoms or if you feel something unusual.
