Ways to treat UTERINE FIBROIDS besides HYSTERECTOMY.

Resolved Question:

My wife is 55 years old. She has large uterine fibroids for over 20 years.
One very large one was removed during a C section during out daughters
birth 21 years ago. Doctors have recommended surgery like hysterectomy
and other fibroid surgery but my wife totally refuses surgery for any non-life-
threatening problems.

Instead, we have done research and educated ourselves about the female
hormone cycle and how to improve through diet and supplements. In doing,
this we have succeeded in ending the hemoraghing of blood during her periods.
They are normal bleeding for over 6 months now but longer than should be
from 1 to 2 weeks.

Last week she began to have sore breasts again.

This weekend we discorved a book by Dr. Lee and Dr. Hanly on Amazon
about using natural progesterone cream in the treatment of fibroids. In their
book as other online forums we find reports of women finding success with
this treatment.

We would like to find out if you can provide a prescription for this natural
progesterone cream. It is offered OTC but not in the therapeutic dosages.

What do you need in order to write a prescription?

NOTE: South River Compounding Pharmacy is near us and they offered to
assist you in determining the appropriate prescription since they have
experience with natural progesterone cream. You can reach them toll free

Hello,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am sorry, but one cannot write out prescriptions online.
It is not possible.
You need to consult a gynecologist and then get one prescribed.
And in any case, I am sorry to state, that the natural progesterone cream will not work at all for such large fibroids.
Short of a removal of the fibroid / uterus, nothing mostly will.
You may try HIFU, that is a new procedure that may work.
You need a latest scan to see if the fibroid ( s ) fit the criteria.
If they have shrunk, she is nearing menopause and chances are they would further regress.
If they are quite big, surgery is still needed.
All the best
Please feel free to discuss further.
Regards.
