BIOGRAPHY

Dr. Sastry is Board Certified Internal Medicine and Nephrology specialist.  He is on staff at Sarasota Memorial Hospital, Doctor’s Hospital of Sarasota and Consultant at Nephrology Associates, FL.  

Dr. Sastry completed his internship and residency in Internal Medicine and Nephrology fellowship at the Baylor College of College of Medicine in Houston, Texas.  He has trained in all aspects of Nephrology, including chronic kidney disease, hypertension, transplantation, and dialysis. Dr. Sastry received his medical degree from Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit, Michigan and he graduated from the University of Miami, Florida summa cum laude with a Bachelor’s degree in Science.

Dr. Sastry served as Medical Director of DSI Sarasota and is the current Medical Director of Davita Manasota. He is also the Inpatient Hemodialysis Director at Sarasota Memorial Hospital and serves as an at-large executive board member of the Florida Society of Nephrology, which serves as an advocate of improvement of the care of patients with kidney disease in the state of Florida.

He is a native Midwesterner, born in Indiana and raised in Michigan, where his family still resides. He is married and has two sons. His interests include traveling, tennis, literature, and film. He is also an avid sports fan.
