Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
Can you please mention what are the symptoms for which Valium has been prescribed to you?
It is really easy to get dependent on Valium, and it varies from individual to individual.
Some people have used the drug continuously for a month, without showing any signs of dependence, and some suffered from withdrawal symptoms, after a week of it's use. So it is difficult to predict.
However if you give your medical history, it will be helpful.
Feel free to discuss further,
Regards.

Patient replied :

Symptoms you enquired about is occasional anxiety. I asked the question because I'm not to take them daily, only when needed. But I'm enjoying the relaxation effect they have BUT .. I'm aware they are extremely addictive and I'm responsible enough to be sensible and not get addicted ( there in causing another problem, which I'd much rather avoid ). Just wanted to know what length of window or time frame I had to prevent physical addiction.
The advise is vague, but I will assume 1 - 2 weeks to be Maximum time frame to use daily.
Thanks for your advice. I appreciate it.

Hello,
To be very honest individuals react differently to Valium.
But yes people who get addicted in a week's time are usually the ones with previous history of other addictions.
Since you have no such history, you can take it for up to 2 weeks, but make sure it is not more than 10 mg.
This won't cause any further withdrawal symptoms when you stop the medicine.
Wish you good health!
Regards.
