Can I get be pregnant without intercourse?

Resolved Question:

Bet you haven't heard a story like this before...
As a Christian, I have so far been able to keep to my decision to wait until marriage before having sex. However... last year my boyfriend and I went a little further than we'd planned for. Although we didn't have intercourse, he came quite close to me when we were fooling around, & after being regular & on time or early for my period every month since I was 13, this month I was late, feeling nauseous, breasts a lot more swollen & sore than usual for that time of month. I didn't take a pregnancy test because it hadn't been long enough for me to completely freak out yet, & 4-5 days after I was due, I did get my period, but it was more painful than usual & quite gluggy, clot like blood. I've since heard about chemical pregnacies and looking back at symptims, although it's highly unlikely without actually having intercourse (must have been the worst luck in the world!), I believe I probably miscarried (not sure if there's any way to test if you've ever been pregnant after you've miscarried, rather than taking a pregnancy test beforehand?). My question though is more around pap smears. Up until now I've chosen not to have one as I've never actually had intercourse yet. Should I be getting one, given that I may have possibly been pregnant in the past, even though I haven't actually had sex? Should I be 'cleared out' or does the body do this itself after a miscarriage... if that's what I did have?? I'm a bit of a health freak and know my body pretty well which is why I feel I probably was pregnant because My body definitely felt different for about a week & I've not felt like that since. I never went to the doctor and followed it up once I got my period.
So to summarise a guess my questions are 1. Is there anyway to find out if I was pregnant or not? And 2. Should I start having Pap smears yet or should I wait until I'm completely sexually active? Thank-you for your consideration.

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
The ultrasound is indicating that there is swelling on your left kidney and upper ureter. It has been in all probability caused by the stone dropping from the left kidney into the left ureter. You need get to investigated further with NCCT KUB and start treatment for the stone in ureter.
There is nothing much to worry and most of the patients pass the stones by themselves with help of medications.
Feel free to discuss further,
Take care
Sincerely
Rajiv Goel

Thank you doctor!
So the finding in ultrasound does not indicate necessarily a malignancy
Kaido

Hello,
No it does not indicate malignancy in any way.
Please do not worry.

Hello again! Unfortunately it is another 2 weeks until ct scan. Meanwhile a new problem occurred. I have a mild back pain just in the middle above buttocks. I was skiing a few days ago and then it became worse but it diminished again to the discomfort it was. It is better when walking or standing and worse when sitting and gets better as day goes on. I read this could be due to kidney stone but also a sign of cancer. I have really no other symptoms. My GP told me if there is no fever, this is not because of the kidney stone. Does this mean cancer?
Kaido

Hello,
It could be just be a muscular pain.
Kidney stone pains are extremely painful, mostly localised on one side, and radiates downwards. Regarding cancer, why do you think it is cancer?
To me it sounds more like a muscular pain.
Regards.

Patient replied :

Well, no other reason than Google :-) As from the beginning of the year I decided to tackle my overweight problem (BMI 35) and have been daily walking and exercising some 45-60 minutes per day. I thought walking is the safest, could this also add to it? The most notable it is when bending forward (when exercising), otherwise it can be felt when sitting. So you would not consider as a bone or spine tumor as Google suggests as one possible cause?

Hello,
Yes bone pain is one of the symptoms of cancer. However these are extremely painful and associated with other features of cancer such as weight loss, and deranged blood parameters.
Yes the pain sounds more muscular in origin, could be due to your walking and exercising.
You can rest for a few days and it will improve.
Google is creating real anxiety, isn't it? But please do not worry in this case.
Regards.
