Cause for abdominal distention, indigestion, dyspepsia, pain.

Resolved Question:

For last one month, I am having abdominal distension / indigestion / dyspepsia (pain in abdomen, bloating, nausea and burping). The pain in abdomen recurs after few hours. It's more frequent during daytime (mostly after taking the meals) but generally less during the night. I have made the following diet changes -

(1) Dropped tea and citrus fruits (oranges) completely
(2) Black grapes
(3) Ginger with salt
(4) Honey before sleeping

Please suggest suitable remedies for early and permanent cure of the ailment.

Hi,
Thanks for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I am Dr.R.K and I am pleased to assist you.
Yes you are having dyspeptic symptoms.
Since the symptoms are more in the daytime than night it is more likely that you have functional or non-ulcer dyspepsia.
But organic causes should be ruled out before calling it as nonulcer dyspepsia.
I would advise you to check your blood glucose levels, get tested for Helicobacter pylori infection and get an upper GI endoscopy done.
You can take Nexium along with Levosulpiride once daily before food for 4-8 weeks.
If your blood glucose is high and if you test positive for helicobacter pylori, then you need to treat them for complete relief.
I hope that answers your question.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr.R.K.

Thanks for the advice. I hope you have also examined the shared documents (prescription of earlier consultation and test reports of blood and urine). Please also advise about the dietary precautions.

Hi,
I went through your reports.
Everything looks fine.
The slight decrease in hemoglobin is not significant.
I would not worry if it is above 12 gm%.
As far as the diet is concerned, try to avoid coffee, tea, citrus, chocolates, oily food/spicy food/masala.
Regards.
