The commonest cause of such leg cramps is inadequate water intake. But I need to know your detailed medical history and any medicine history if it is present. Do you have any history of cardiac problems? Any other associated symptoms? For how long has this been happening?

Thank you for your reply. Yes. I have been dianosed "irregular heartbeat". I've been taking pills for that before but now I'm off.
This leg cramp has been going on for about 10 nights.

No it is not related to irregular heart beat.
Do you have any history of OCP consumption?
Sometimes nutritional deficiencies like low potassium, or calcium can lead to such cramps. These values need to be evaluated especially serum potassium, and calcium.
What is your weight? In overweight people chances of varicosity and DVT is more. Cramping can also be secondary to dilated veins in the lower limb.

Hello,
Your BMI is normal and not in alarming range.
I am sorry I was not clear earlier.
By OCP consumption, I meant oral contraceptive pills consumption. A lot of women with OCP consumption suffer from frequent severe leg cramps. ( I am assuming you're a female, your gender is not mentioned in the sex column. Please ignore about OCP consumption if you are a male ).
