Hard growth on shaft of penis, multiple sexual partners.

Resolved Question:

Dear Doctor,

I noticed this afternoon that I have a single, small 'growth' on the shaft / foreskin of my penis (photos attached). The growth is relatively hard; at least to a greater extend than I anticipated.

I have been with the same sexual partner for more than twelve months and she has no history of sexually transmitted diseases.

Prior to my current relationship, I had multiple sexual partners at different times. These sexual experiences took place over two years ago however. I have no known history of sexually transmitted diseases. I have been tested for HIV in the past twelve months and the result was negative.

Please give your opinion of what the growth is based on the provided photos and information. Don't be afraid to say it is impossible for you to make an assessment if that is the case.

Thank you kindly for your assistance,

James

Thank you fror you reply.
I apologize for I was unaware that the previous images I had sent had been compressed dramatically from approx. 1 MB down to 12 bytes.
I am attempting to send high resolution images now.
Thanks once again for your help.

Hello

Thanks for posting your query. I can understand your concern. You seem to be having a genital wart. However i would like to know if the lesion is fluid filled.

A genital wart is caused by hpv virus and is sexually transmitted. Application of Aldara cream five days a week will help in resolution of the wart in 8 to 10 weeks.
You will need to get a prescription for the cream.

Please let me know if you have any queries.

Take care

Thank you for your reply.
With regards to your question, the wart (let's just assume it is one for the sake of the conversation) is very small. You likely have some sense of scale as my thumbnail appears in one of the photos. The zoom on the iPhone 6 with which the pictures were taken is relatively good. Honestly, the wart itself is difficult to make out in much detail without magnification.
For this reason, it's difficult to ascertain if it's filled with fluid. I would guess perhaps that it is, but I can't be sure. Obviously, I won't be engaging in sexual activities with my partner and will seek to keep the region as clean as possible.
Obtaining Aldara cream is proving somewhat difficult as I currently live in Vietnam. We have a Westernized hospital that is calling around for us in search of the cream or a closely related product, though they advised that it can be difficult to obtain. Any advice if I can't procure the cream in the next few days? Should I fly to Bangkok or another major city for the product over a weekend?
Thank you once again for your assistance, it's greatly appreciated,

Hello

Thanks for your reply.

In case you cannot get the Aldara cream then it would be best to visit the doctor there who can burn it out for you. That would be the best. Alternatively the doctor can apply podophyllin on the wart in his office. Its best to let your doctor treat you for it.

Take care
