Nonstop muscle twitching in calf on NUVARING.

Resolved Question:

I am 39 years old patientold, I have had what seems like non stop muscle twitching in my right lower calf. I am in nuvaring monthly, Abilify 2mg po qd & prestique 50mg po qd .......when I remember to take them. I am on no other medications. I have no other medical history besides 3 c-section & Breast implants, non recent! I have no pain, warmth or tenderness to the area just an annoying constant muscle twitching! Please advise!!

Abilify is known to have a side effect of muscle twitching.
As such, you have no symptoms such as calf tenderness, pain or redness, so I would not worry about blood clots due to the Nuvaring.
I am more of the opinion that it is Abilify which is causing this.
Please discuss it with your prescribing doctor, and have the medication tapered / modified.
