On painkillers for STONES in CT. Is this correct?

Resolved Question:

Hi,
Two weeks back I had a pain in right lower abdomen ,I went to hospital and they gave me pain killers for relief.there is no vomting sensation .

After that I went to urologist and ultrasound and CT kub tests are taken.

Ultrasound report shows 5 mm stone in right kidney and 4mm in Left kidney.

CT shows 9mm in right and 4mm left.

Urologist told me I need to take plenty of water and less calcium in take.

There is no pain for me after initial pain

Am I following the right treatment?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
What exactly causes stone formation is not known. What we know is that stones are made of chemicals and it is the interplay of chemicals that shall decide whether you shall form stones or not and also of what kind.
You should get the following investigations and then get back to me
Urine routine
Serum calcium and uric acid
24 hours urine calcium, uric acid and oxalate levels.

Take care
Sincerely
Rajiv Goel
