Painful EXTERNAL HEMORRHOID after FOOD POISONING, DIARRHEA.

Resolved Question:

I have an external hemmoroid that started about two days ago from food poisoning and diaharreah. It is pretty painful and aboit the size of my thumbnail and is very hard. Lying down and sitz baths appear to keep it from growing in size.

Approx. five years ago I received my first which was diagnosed as a thrombosed external hemmoroid. Being 22 I wasn't aware of this and allowed it to grow to an extremely painful size of a qaurter or silver dollar. My doctor drained it and after a day or two I experiemced no more pain.

Now, my obvious concern is that I will have to receive surgery again. I think the anxiety is only making it worse.

I believe I am doing everything possible to treat this eg baths fiber water cream etc.

In your professional opinion is it possible that this will go away on its own?

I understand your concern.
As per your description, it looks like a Thrombosed haemorrhoid.
I prefer to do Surgery by removing the haemorrhoid.
Please take high fiber diet, drink plenty of liquids, eat fresh fruits and vegetables. Your stool should be soft. You have to take Sitz bath with Warm water and Povidone iodine solution.
If there is no response, please consult your doctor and get it removed surgically.

If it gets worse in next 12 hours I am going to a doctor for surgery. However, it is still possible for thrombosed to go away naturally correct?

Yeah.
It is better for you to undergo surgery if there is no response.
Sometimes, the swelling and pain will become less and you will get relief in thrombosed haemorrhoid. It does not disappear completely.
