Risk of CONTAGIOUS DISEASE from kicking dirty blanket.

Resolved Question:

Earlier today I saw something large on the road and got out of my car to kick it to the ditch. This was in a rural area with farm fields on either side of the road, outside a small town in Ontario, Canada. The object turned out to be a large, dirty-looking blanket. I didn't touch it with my hands but my boots and possibly the bottom of my pants touched it, especially as I kicked it around a bit to make sure there was nothing in it. My question is this: is it at all possible that I could have gotten something contagious on my clothing? I'm not worried about myself at all, but later in the day I sat in a movie theatre and then in a restaurant, and I need to know that I can't have brought something dangerous to those places and infected anyone. I'm really worried about causing inadvertent harm this way, particularly as I wouldn't have any way of knowing afterward. I need to know if I should contact some sort of authorities or if this is just an over-reaction - I didn't see anything on my clothes afterward but I have a strong sense of social responsibility and want to be sure nobody's getting anything bad from that blanket (especially since I was in public places afterward.)

Hello,
Thanks for writing to DoctorSpring.com
I can assure you, no such infection can be spread from such clothes or blanket.
This is because the organisms need a media to survive, and blanket can only let a few bacteria grow but not to that extent where it starts spreading infection.
Also, you won't get any such organisms either. So please do not worry.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
