It seems you had a Gastroenteritis followed by a post infectious irritable bowel symptoms. Do not worry, this is only a common stomach bug you might have contracted from food or water.

1.Since it has been a week I would recommend an antibiotic like Norfoloxacin /Ciprofloxacin 400mg twice daily for 5 days. You should take this in consult with your Doctor. There could be persistent infection which needs to be addressed. Antibiotics are typically not recommended for Gastroenteritis, but since you have history of travel it may be considered.

2.Drink plenty of water. Take soft bland diet. Avoid milk and milk products for 2 - 3 days.

3. You can also take a probiotic drink / capsule once or twice a day

4. If the symptoms persist, do visit your Doctor without delay as you may require further evaluation.
