Acne with red areas. Can I use GLYCOLIC ACID?

Resolved Question:

Hello, For Dermatologist, to help with what seems to be acne. Thanks. Pictures attached.
History -
1. occassional acne like once a month something.
2. Remnants of previous ones still there - you can see red areas. Esp on the nose and lighter ones on cheeks.
3. Quite dry skin
4. Did try a new soap - dove probably comedogenic.
5. Wash face generally twice - little to no exposure to sun, sweat, pollution.
6. Use neem wash, few face washes which haven't caused any issues till now, so fairly tolerant skin as such.
Questioins
1. Are these cystic acnes? Sometimes they develop white tops - are they whiteheads then?
2. Which facewash possibly which doesn't dry the skin too much could help prevent these occasional ones?
3. How to take care of these occassional ones now?
4. What to do with the remnants and red pigmentation - glycolic acid base products?
I am based out of India - so if you could recommend brand name products, would be great. Thanks, much appreciate it. Regards

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern.
Yes some recent studies have claimed that gout itself can act as a predicposing factor for CHD or Angina.
However gout only increases the risk in people who are already a higher risk, such as patients with chronic hypertension, diabetes mellitus, high cholesterol, obesity, e.t.c
If you exercise and control the other variables, i.e BP under control, weight as it currently is, keep exercising, and prevent the development of Type 2 DM, then Gout can't cause any damage to your heart. There are lots of studies going on and nothing has been proved as of yet. But theoretically, if you exercise, and maintain your diet ( thereby avoiding all these other issues ), then you should not worry about Gout as an independent cause for any additional risk of heart disease.
Continue your work outs, maintain a healthy diet, and i presume you're on medication for gout?
That is enough to keep you in good health.
Hope this was helpful,
Regards.
