Hello,

Thank you for choosing DoctorSpring.

Yes, you can treat both at the same time. However it not required most of the cases as a diagnosis can be made from the symptoms. May I know what kind of symptoms do you have ?

itch lil bit but i dont have sex so plus i always get yeast infectionor bvso should i just keep finishing the bv treatment an do a three day monistat or one day day time monistat

Hello,

Since you started you continue the BV treatment. When it is completed and if there is no resolution of symptoms you should consider - 3 days Monistat.

Bacterial vaginosis occurs due to over growth of bacteria, while yeast infection occurs due to naturally existing fungus(candida albicans) in our body which multiplies due to decreased immunity. For uncomplicated yeast infections topical treatment is effective. If your symptoms persist even after using topical treatment for a week, then oral antifungals can be suggested. But for bacterial vaginosis you need to take a course of antibacterials like metronidazole.

So I recommend a GP consultation and further tests if the symptoms recurs. It is NOT normal for these infections to recur (as in your case). You should also get a basic blood test done as screening.

Hope this helps
Feel free to ask followups
Thank you
