Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I shall be interested to know your gender. Nevertheless the slow stream suggests that you have obstructive voiding and this by itself is the cause of your pain at the end of urination.
You should get investigated with ultrasound KUB and urine routine.

Sincerely
Rajiv goel

Patient replied :

I am female. The slow, etc, stream has been occuring for years but the pain at the end of urination is just the past 3 months. Does that make sense?

Dear madam,

You should certainly get further investigated with urinalysis and ultrasound.
Slow stream is unlikely to cause the terminal pain.
You can start yourself on cranberry juice till you get the investigations done. It shall change the pH of your urine.

I shall also be interested to know whether you have been smoker at any point of time.

Sincerely
Rajiv goel

Patient replied :

No,never smoked. I have mild/moderate asthma so never even tried to smoke.I do take cranberry when the pain is more severe these past 3 months along with the Phenazopyridine. It provides temporary relief.
I recently had my gall bladder removed and the ultrasound I had before the surgery showed an approximate 1 cm simple cyst on each kidney. However my Dr said these are common and are not to be concerned about. Since I have had the difficulty for years I thought they probably were not the cause. But the pain is what concerns me.
I have no health insurance and am trying to keep costs down. However, that didn't work so well with my gall bladder as I had problems for 2 years but still had to have it removed.anyway.

I have reviewed your history and ultrasound findings and there is no reason to be alarmed.
It shall be great if you could start yourself on c. Tamsulosin 0.4 mg once daily. It shall improve pain as well as stream.

Take care
Sincerely
Rajiv Goel
