Discomfort/urge to cough after inhaling PROPANE/WINDEX gas.

Resolved Question:

I was working on setting up my new BBQ and I may have inhaled either some propane gas or some Windex spray (from when I was cleaning around it). Although I noticed nothing immediately, about 30 minutes afterwards I noticed an irritation in my upper respiratory tract. A slight discomfort/urge to cough that never really goes away.

It's been 3 days now and the symptoms haven't changed. There is no mucus, I can breathe smoothly, I'm not tired at all... but the tickly cough feeling remains. I wonder if I've somehow damaged my lungs for life. I haven't been to a doctor yet. Am I risking further damage by not taking some sort of medication?

FYI, 43 year old male, in good shape, no history of asthma, allergies etc

I understand your anxiety regarding any injury to lung that may have occurred.
However neither propane nor ammonia will create any lung injury. So i will ignore a small scale, occasional exposure to propane / windex.
Ammonia is highly irritable and it might have caused some irritation to airway mucosa. give it 5- 7 days of voice rest and the funny sensation in your throat should be relieved. any lozenges also may help
