Fever, sorethroat, headache after oral sex. HIV?

Resolved Question:

I am married but have an additional partner that I have occassional sex with as my husband and I only live together for convenience. I always use protection or try to engage in sex acts which are less risky with this partner. In my previous question (a few months ago) I give more detail on our sexual history. This may give some background.

Just over two weeks ago, we engaged in some sexual contact. I remember him touching his penis and it had precum on it. I then massaged his penis for a few minutes and then he proceeded to perform oral sex on me. At this point put his fingers on my vagina. He did not insert his fingers inside my vaginal opening but on my inner labia. I told him to remove them as this was at risk behaviour.

Just over two weeks later I developed a low-grade fever, slight sore throat, some malaise and slight headache. The symptoms started yesterday morning but now on the evening of the following day I feel much better. I'm just terrified in case this is HIV seroconversion illness and my paranoia is becoming more heightened. But it could also be a winter bug lasting 36 hours. There were no agressive symptons.

My research seems to indicate that the virus is not transmitted in this way. Do I have reason to be concerned about HIV transmission?

Hello,
Thank you for your query at DoctorSpring.com
I understand your concern and to answer your question directly : No you should not worry about HIV transmission.
This act has no chances of spreading HIV even if he was infected.
The only way to transmit HIV is through vaginal/ anal unprotected intercourse with seminal/ vaginal emission ( contact with the discharge ).
You seem to be having a winter bug as you rightly said.
Regards.
