How to overcome premature ejaculation.

Resolved Question:

Dear doctor, I am a 35 years old man, married about 13 years ago. I have been having smooth and loving relationship with my wife. But the problem I am facing now, makes me really frustrated. I am able to erections easily and quickly. But the problem is I cannot maintain it for long. The maximum time I can hold before ejaculating is 5 minutes. During intercourse it happens between 3-5 minutes. This leaves me and my wife in a state of frustration. Is there any medical remedy for my situation? I really want it to make longer. At least I should be able to satisfy my wife in our bedroom. Please help me. Thanks for spending time for me.

Thanks for your question. Premature ejaculation is a very common situation suffered by men of ages 35 and above. It is always advised to try natural methods before starting any drugs. Try to control your anxiety and expectations about sex. Try planning what you are going to do. Have enough foreplay before entering intercourse. You can also try masturbating before real intercourse, without using any lubrication. Later on, try masturbating using lubrication. Then onwards, try masturbating with visual aids such as porn content or magazines. This can help in increasing your holding power for stimulations. You will learn controlling your urges to ejaculate and thereby maintaining a longer erection. Once you succeed in this, try a start and stop method. Masturbate till the time you are just before ejaculation and then stop it half way. You can ease it by thinking about things which are not stimulating. You can also try doing some pelvic exercises. Yoga can also help in decreasing tension in the pelvic region. You may also try doing kegel exercises. Changing the sexual intercourse positions also helps. Missionary position or the man on top position is notorious to pose more stress to pelvic muscles, which in turn increase chance of earlier ejaculation. Try doggy position, woman on top positions or spooning position (side by side), to delay the ejaculatory phase. You can also try some medications as desensitizing creams and condoms. If none of the above suggestions seem to help, I would like to advise you to consult a doctor. You may need antidepressant medication to medically treat the condition. Usually anti-depressant medications require a doctor’s prescription. Hope that my reply helps. Take care.
