REINNERVATION in arm WITHOUT DENERVATION. What it means?

Resolved Question:

My neurologist wrote in his report to my GP that I have signs of reinnervation in my right arm, without denervation.

What does this mean exactly ?

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
With the limited information, you have provided, I can say that these pertain to needle EMG (electromyography) findings. This means there is neurogenic damage (damage to peripheral nerves or nerve roots). Also, the disease process is most likely non progressive (unlikely to get worse over time).
Best wishes,

Patient replied :

Thank you very much.
Does it mean just that, or does reinnervation also mean that the body is (trying to) repair the damage ?
And if that's the case; could you suggest a certain protocol to assist my body in this process ?

Expert:  Dr. Sudhir Kumar replied 3 Days.

Thank you for getting back.
Reinnervation is an EMG finding and does not give any information regarding whether the body is trying to repair the damage or not. However, nerve injury does try to recover on own. Vitamin supplements such as B12, pyridoxine, thiamine and alpha lipoic acid may aid in recovery of injured nerve.
Best wishes.
