suffering from leg pain after cancer treatment.

Resolved Question:

I am a 44 years old female. I was suffering from breast cancer and got treated for breast cancer. Some of my lymph nodes also were got affected then. As treatment, I had radiation and chemotherapy, after surgical removal of my right breast. Now, after 4 years from the treatment, I am now suffering from a stabbing pain in my legs and groin. I am unable to even cross my legs. I feel pain when I breathe in. The pain is usually felt in upper leg muscle. When this pain occurs I will be unable to even lift my legs. Why this happens so? Is there any chance for a further outbreak of cancer? Please help.

The issue with you might be something related to the chemotherapy you had some years ago. Chemotherapy is a treatment which can cause damage to blood vessels. This causes blood to clot. In groins and legs, blood vessels are pretty large. Clots occurring in those areas may result in severe pains as you may suffer now. There can be some other reasons for this pain. So it is better to get it investigated first and follow the instructions of your doctor. A doctor can easily find out the reason of pain. It should not be put in a delay. Get a medical attention as soon as possible and get checkups done at the earliest. It is better to be safe than sorry. Good luck.
