Treatment for mild ASTHMA presenting during exercise.

Hello,
As a child a teenager I had very mild asthma, that would usually present during exercise. ( i believe it was diagnoses as sport induced asthma when I was about 8)
As I entered my mid twenties, I stopped exercising strenuously, and it pretty much disappeared. I convinced myself I grew out of it.
This year (34 year old) I've begun very high intensity exercise again and a few times it has returned.Again mild tightness, My girlfriends puffer relieves this.
Again, it was always very mild, and have never had a hospital admission.

Is it possible for it to be dormant for those 8 or nine years?

Exercise induced asthma can occur at anytime whenever you do exercise..
Some people do grow out of asthma, however for some with same past history, asthma occurs even without exercise.
It's also possible that you are having asthma but you are not aware of it as there is no demand for increased breath. Once there is an increased demand, you experience shortness of breath.
Suggest you do a pulmonary function test and assess lung function.
