BIOGRAPHY

As a physician surgeon Dr. Aguilera has knowledge and experience in dealing all kinds of health related issues, either medical or surgical. With a successful private professional practice since 2006, now trough the internet, he has been able to help people from all over the World. 

Dr. Juan Aguilera educational background is targeted towards Medicine, Public Health and interdisciplinary research at the Border Community of El Paso and Ciudad Juarez. he is physician surgeon with a Medical Degree (MD) from the University of Ciudad Juarez (UACJ) and a Diploma in Emergency Medicine from the Instituto Politecnico Nacional (IPN). Now pursuing a Master’s degree in Public Health (MPH) at the University of Texas at El Paso, his research focuses in assessing the current risk factors of metabolic syndrome and its components such as Hypertension and Diabetes Mellitus in Hispanic populations particularly in those with a low socioeconomic status.

Currently, he works as a Graduate Research Assistant in a R01 study funded by the National Institute of Health (NIH) of “Urban air pollution and carotid intima-media thickness in at risk children of El Paso, Texas”. Also, he serve as the current President of the Student for Public Health (SPH) graduate student organization leading campaigns of screening and early detection of HIV in at risk populations, and as a recurring guest speaker at the Mexican Consulate with the lecture “Childhood Obesity” as part of the “Ventanillas de Salud” education program.
