Chances of LISTERIA bacteria by eating heated up leftovers.

Resolved Question:

I'm 22 weeks pregnant. Tonight I heated up leftovers (a vegetarian broccoli, kale, bean stir fry) but the meal was not piping hot (most especially the broccoli). I didn't even think about it until after I ate it, but now I am concerned about listeria or another bacteria. The leftovers were cooked last night and stored within 30 minutes of cooking.

Listeria and other bacteria mostly thrive when leftovers are not properly heated to atleast 165 degrees, and when they have not been properly stored in the refrigerator.
So yes, this was a lapse.
But it was a one time thing.
I do not thing the chances of acquiring any infection from this episode are great.
You can safely choose to ignore it, particularly if you remain symptom free.
But yes, you should be very careful in future.
Use a food thermometer while reheating your food.
Ensure fridge temperatures are optimum, by using a refrigerator thermometer.
Stop worrying about this event, you would not acquire anything by just one episode.
Also, the food was home made and thoroughly cooked.
