Headache starts from eyebrow passes to back. MIGRAINE?

Resolved Question:

I would like to consult a doctor for my ongoing headache issue. Looks like migrane. I have this kind of headache on many instances but I definitely have this on Mondays and it remains the whole day.

It starts just above the eyebrows and sometimes passes to the back. It increases with light and I find it even more painful to keep my eyes open.

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query.
I have noted your symptoms and agree that they are suggestive of migraine.
For frequent headaches, we need to start preventive medications to reduce the frequency and severity of headaches. Effective medications include topiramate, propranolol and divalproex tablets.
For relief of pain, we can use rizatriptan or sumatriptan tablets.
I hope it helps.
Best wishes,

Thanks for your response.
Can you please tell me:
- What are the preventive measures to reduce these headaches in future although I know that migraines do not have a black and white fix as yet.
-I feel the frequency of these pains is increasing so is that something I should worry about and take some next steps?

Regards, Kulwinder Singh

Thank you for getting back.
For prevention, the most important are medications that I have already mentioned. Other measures include:
1. Avoid fasting and delay in meals.
2. Sleep adequately for 7-8 hours at nights,
3. Regular exercises,
4. Avoid stress and tension.
If headache does not subside with above measures, then a brain scan may be done.
Best wishes,

Thanks. One last question - While you have given me the medicine names, can you also tell me the frequency?

Thank you for getting back.
These medicines are taken once daily. The dose would depend on your body weight and symptoms severity and can be prescribed by your doctor, as these are prescription medicines. The total treatment duration also depends on treatment response, but may last for at least 3 months.
