Resolved Question:

Hello Doctor,

My name is Jayanth, 28 years old patientold,Male, from Hyderabad India.....since the past two weeks, I occasionally feel inflammation and pain on the sole of my left foot while walking....
I have tested the sugar and bp as per my diabetologist's suggestion...after brkstmy sugar was 95...and bp stood at 120/80.

I am not able to understand what kind of pain it is....while walking I feel sudden stretching pain and inflammation on the foot sole, inside arch of left foot(area in front of the heel and between the toes..Diabetologist gave me certain nerve relaxing medicines, along with a pain killer, but I have stopped consuming the pain killer tablet.

Requesting you to kindly assist me in understanding and diagnosing my problem...
Waiting with Anticipation..

Thanks & Regards,
Jayanth Pillai

Hi,
Thank you for posting your query at DoctorSpring.com
I have noted your symptoms. The possibilities include : 1. Plantar fasciitis, 2. Peripheral neuropathy.
In plantar fasciitis, there is inflammation of soft tissues underneath the skin.
In peripheral neuropathy, there is mild damage of nerves located in the skin.
Investigations such as ultrasound and nerve conduction studies would help in confirming the diagnosis.
It can be treated with medications.
Best wishes,

Patient replied :

Doctor, last evening, I observed a very mild swelling on top side of my foot(above ankle area) when i came from office and removed my shoes....is it because of the 10 long hours of wearing shoes, is it common to get certain mild swelling at times after sitting or standing for long hours? I pressed it for quite sometime and did not see it as a pitting edema After half an hour , the swelling could not be seen

Yes, this type of oedema can occur after a sitting for a long duration.Small breaks and intermittent walking during long works hours is advised.
